The price quoted for orders over £40.00 in value is based on the fact that for 'heavy' parcels, which we send by courier, we are charged at least this amount to get it to you. We work on £40.00 as an average price for a 'heavy' parcel. However, orders totalling £40.00 aren't always 'heavy' and can often be sent by a cheaper method. Our website, though very clever, isn't clever enough to know this. If this is the case with your order, then we will refund you the difference.
Delivery Charges for Overseas Orders

Overseas orders are charged carriage according to cost:

For Europe (inc. Eire): 30% of the order value (minimum charge of £5.00)

Outside Europe: 40% of the order value (minimum charge of £5.00)

(We can send orders on your behalf to UK addresses, for which the UK rates would apply.)

Please note: Overseas bulk orders of certain books and products in our range may incur an additional postage charge. If applicable, we will contact you as soon as we process your order.


We normally aim to send orders out within a few days, often on receipt of your order. Please allow 7 working days for delivery as we send items by 2nd Class Post and 48 hourcarrier. If you haven't received your order or advice on its status within 10 working days, please advise us. Delivery of heavy parcels will require a signature, so if you are normally out during the day, please supply us with a delivery address where there will be a signatory.

Packaging Policy

We aim to re-use as much of the packaging material as possible that we receive. By utilising it in our outgoing parcels, we hope to reduce both the volume of waste generated and the use of new resources.

Last year we asked you to recycle packaging material that you have received by sending your order in a used Jiffybag/envelope. We have had a wonderful response and would continue to ask you to do so if you can. Thank you to those of you who were able to respond. Also, if you are visiting the Centre and have room in your luggage you could recycle polystyrene 'chips' by bringing them to the Mail Order Department. (We've got to meet quite a few of our customers this way! - thank you again).


Under the Distance Selling Regulations, you have a right to cancel your order for any home delivery item for a full refund.

You may cancel your order at anytime before we process your order.

If you wish to change or cancel an order please send an email to We aim to respond to your email within 24 hours of receipt. Please include the following details:

  • Customer name
  • Order number
  • Date of the order
  • What you ordered

Alternatively contact our Mail Order team on 01654 705959, any time between 09.00 and 17.30 Monday - Friday. Our primary means of support is email and you will receive a quicker response by email than any other form of contact. Telephone support is limited so if you receive our answer service, simply leave your name, email address, telephone number and reason for your call and one of our team will call you back as soon as possible. It would be helpful if you could have the following details to hand:

  • Customer name
  • Order number
  • Date of the order
  • What you ordered

Before sending us an email or telephoning us to cancel your order, please login to your account here on our site to see if the order has already left here, or is marked as processed or dispatched. Once it is processed with any of these labels it will be too late to cancel your order and it will be dispatched. Once an order is placed it is processed within a few hours and it cannot be cancelled when processing even if it has not yet been dispatched.

Please note that if your order has been despatched, we are unable to cancel it and our normal returns policy will apply.


If you are not satisfied with any purchase, contact us and then return it in a saleable condition (with the original product packaging) within a month and we will replace it free of charge or issue a refund. Claims for damaged/faulty goods must be made within 5 working days of receipt. If you are returning an item because it is not suitable or you ordered the wrong item you will need to cover the cost of the return postage. If the item was damaged, faulty or sent in error by ourselves, we will reimburse you for the return postage. This returns policy does not apply to goods which by reason of their nature cannot be returned, i.e. earrings for pierced ears, personal grooming products, toiletries and perishable goods.

Your statutory rights are not affected.
